Zakat Calculator

Add up zakatable wealth, deduct debts due, and work out 2.5% Zakat on the stated nisab basis. This is an arithmetic estimate only, not a ruling — how long wealth has been owned (hawl) is not computed here.

No live price loaded. Enter gold and silver prices below, or use the latest prices button in the form.

Cash and other assets

All fields are optional. Leave a field blank if it does not apply — blank means zero.

Money in hand and in bank accounts. Leave blank if none.

Gold owned

Gold — how do you want to enter it?

Choose one way to enter gold. Do not enter both a value and a weight.

The PKR value of gold you own. Enter only zakatable gold — see the note below.

Used to value gold by weight and to work out the gold nisab. A live price shows its source and date; a price you type is labelled as yours.

Silver owned

Silver — how do you want to enter it?

Choose one way to enter silver. Do not enter both a value and a weight.

The PKR value of silver you own.

Used to value silver by weight and to work out the silver nisab. A live price shows its source and date; a price you type is labelled as yours.

Fetches the latest gold and silver prices. If the prices cannot be loaded, type them yourself.

Trade goods, other assets and debts

Goods held for trade or resale only. Personal-use items are excluded — do not include them here.

Other zakatable wealth and money owed to you. Include only amounts you count as zakatable.

Debts due now. Deducted from your total below. If you are unsure whether a debt should be deducted, confirm with a qualified scholar.

Personal-use items (for example, items you use yourself and do not hold for trade) are excluded. This tool cannot decide whether an item is zakatable — if you are unsure, confirm with a qualified scholar before paying.

Nisab basis

Which nisab threshold the result is compared with. Both shows both thresholds; the basis actually used is labelled on the result. Gold only if you own only gold, otherwise silver for mixed assets and cash.

Zakat due

Enter your details to see your result.

Enter at least one asset to see your result. You will see your Zakat due, net wealth, and whether nisab is met on the basis stated.

Estimates only — not a religious ruling. Confirm with a qualified scholar. Read the full disclaimer below.

How it works

  1. Add up cash, gold, silver, trade goods, and other zakatable assets to get gross wealth.
  2. Deduct debts that are due. Net wealth is gross wealth minus debts, and never goes below zero.
  3. Compare net wealth with the nisab: 87.48 g of gold or 612.36 g of silver (1 tola = 11.664 g). If net wealth is at or above the nisab on the basis stated, Zakat due is 2.5% of net wealth.
  4. Hawl (how long wealth has been owned) is not computed. Include only wealth meeting the conditions you follow, and confirm with a qualified scholar.

Net wealth × 2.5% = Zakat due, when nisab is met.

Worked example

Example only — not your result. Cash Rs 2,000,000, no debts, and nisab met (assumed for this example): net wealth is Rs 2,000,000, and 2.5% of Rs 2,000,000 is Rs 50,000 Zakat due.

Frequently asked questions

How much Zakat is due on my wealth?

If your net zakatable wealth meets the nisab on the basis stated, Zakat due is 2.5% of that net wealth. If it is below nisab, Zakat due is shown as zero on that basis. The result shows the breakdown, the nisab used, and whether nisab is met.

What is the nisab, and why are gold and silver nisab different?

The nisab is 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver. The two weights are different thresholds, so their values in rupees differ whenever gold and silver prices differ. This page shows both values in rupees when prices are available, and labels which basis the decision uses.

Is Zakat due on gold for personal use?

This tool cannot decide whether an item is zakatable. Personal-use items are excluded from the trade-goods field; enter only gold you count as zakatable, and confirm questions about personal-use gold with a qualified scholar.

What assets count, and what debts are deducted?

Cash and bank balances, gold, silver, goods held for trade or resale, and other zakatable assets or money owed to you count here. Debts that are due are deducted. Personal-use items are excluded. If you are unsure whether an asset or debt counts, confirm with a qualified scholar.

Is this a fatwa?

No. This is an arithmetic estimate only, not a fatwa. Zakat method, nisab and asset eligibility can differ by school of thought. Confirm with a qualified scholar before paying, especially for edge cases.
